Flags, banners, commercials, billboards, songs, tv shows, movies, schools, universities, fortune 500 companies, small businesses. What do they all have in common? PRIDE
Pride has become year-round…every day, every minute, every second. What started as a fringe element of society has now expanded into nearly every aspect of life.
Pride is loud. Pride is boisterous. Pride is lively. Pride is commanded…
Jaden Ivey, once a member of the Chicago Bulls, was let go for his belief, his view, on Pride. The deafening aura of Pride hammered down a triumphant sound of silence…
Ivey, commanded by worldly culture and societal beliefs to succumb to the beat of Pride, voiced a belief of “unrighteousness.”
Not with violence. Not with anger. Not with slurs. Not with hatred.
Ivey spoke on his belief from God’s Word…one that True Christians all around the world hold…and he was silenced.
A sports league that prides itself on diversity, equity, and inclusion…silenced a dissenting view.
A league that has employed and promoted people with criminal convictions, substance abuses, physical and verbal abuses…drew the line at Truth…God’s Truth vs worldly truth.
Sound preachy? Well, someone is preaching…and one truth is ringing loud, while another is being silenced.
Ivey is learning…Yes, you can preach…but you preach only what you are told.
Inclusion? Check the fine print.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness.” Isaiah 5:20
Isaiah was describing a culture that had completely fallen away morally from God and His commandments. Those who spoke the clear Truth of God were seen as disruptors…
Ivey just learned how far-gone modern culture truly is.
Think this will happen again? This was a shot across the bow. Yes, speak freely, speak your truth…BUT CHECK THE FINE PRINT.
Society is being molded, formed, and shaped…and culture just shouted…get on board, or else…
Diversity, equity, and inclusion is the Pride slogan…but you better check the fine print.
If your Faith differs from those shouting out the terms of inclusion…silence is your command.
“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for Salvation to everyone who believes…” Romans 1:16
Ivey chose Faith over silence. Ivey chose God over man. Ivey chose the Truth over falsehood. Ivey chose righteousness over unrighteousness. Ivey was silenced…
Ivey was silenced in a culture preaching an ideology of evil.
Ivey, and so many like him, heard the call loud and clear…God can not be silenced.
The Truth of God’s Holy Word is not temporal, fleeting, and subjective…God’s Word is eternal, solid, and objective.
The Truth of God’s Word lights the path to everlasting life.
The Truth of God’s Word is sharper than any sword.
God’s Word is undefeated.
Let us pray for all Christians to stand firm on the solid rock of God’s Holy Word.
Let us never be ashamed of the mighty roar of Truth.
Blessings,
Pastor Jason Pauley
