We are the Temple

We most often associate a temple with some sort of building or structure. In Christian terms we think of a temple as a place for practicing our belief and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. How often do we think of our body as the Temple of the Living God? “For we are the temple of the living God” (2 Cor. 6:16). “Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you” (2 Tim. 1:14). God lives in us. WE are the temple of the living God.

We don’t often think about God living in us as we go about our day. What we say, what we do are all known by God for he dwells in us. God has entrusted upon us the treasures of Heaven. He has blessed us with his Holy Word, giving us the tools to live a Godly life. Through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the gift of eternal life in Heaven.

Paul says, “Don’t you yourselves know that you are God’s temple and that the Spirit of God lives in you? (1 Cor. 3:16). “And that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith” (Eph. 3:17).

Jesus said, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my Word. My father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him” (John 14:23). So so powerful! Love the Lord, keep his Word by learning and loving His Word. Then notice, “we will come to him and make our home with him.” God dwells in those who love Him AND KEEP HIS WORD. Repent of Sin and walk as our Lord Jesus Christ walked. We become the Temple of the living God. Such an amazing and glorious feeling!
