Do you ever think about why we are the way we are? Do you wonder why God, who created all things, wants us to be saved? What is the point of all this? Why would or does God care about us? God created so many different things…we are just one of the millions and millions of different creatures and inanimate objects within a vastness of known and unknown alike. Why us? Why humans? Why does God care?
We are created in the Image of God. Think about that for a moment…we are created in the image of God. If you sit on that for a few moments, it truly boggles the mind…we are created in the image of God… (ok, I will stop repeating, but it gets no less astonishing)
God created the animals, the fish, the birds, the vegetation…yet God looked and saw that none of these creations bore His image. Yes, God pronounced these creations, “Good,” but none were made in His likeness.
Therefore, God created a special being. God created humans; God created us. God created humans to reflect His Glory; have a capacity to be like Him; ability to display His character; please Him by worshipping and loving Him. Yes, God created us in His Image.
We think, reflect, decide, learn, feel, and know. We have morals, know right from wrong, are intelligent, and have a capacity for relationships.
Our perfect, all-mighty God is three persons in one—Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Perfect communication in a perfect relationship. We also have the capacity for relationships. We accept the gift of faith in Jesus Christ who fills all in all. We become a family of believers…brothers and sisters in Christ…Children of God.
God made us in His image so we could get a glimpse of Heaven here on earth…so we could get a glimpse of what God is like. We learn, while here on earth, just a small portion of how God loves, and how He could love us…and we in turn love Him. We praise and worship Him. And God calls us to turn to Him, place our trust and faith in Him, and He will prepare for us a place in Heaven for eternity…and that is the point.
Why us?…because God made us that way…to believe, praise, and worship. Thanks be to God.
I would love to expound upon the idea of having a relationship with God, our Lord Jesus Christ, with anyone. Start your Journey with Jesus today!
