Changing Narrative

Rainbow, kneeling, praying in public, Biblical leadership, genders, many races vs. one in Christ Jesus…Christian nationalism?

God’s Word is clear on many topics.  Do we listen?  Do we listen to the clear Word of God?

When I first sat down and read the Bible straight through, there was much I did not understand.  But there were many clear and obvious Truths that didn’t take a seminary degree to understand.  Truths that God laid out for any and all who believe.

The most clear and obvious Truths are the ones most debated.  Who is setting the narrative, God’s Word, or society?  Why are obvious Truth’s ignored?  Why are obvious Truth’s explained away as the culture changes?  Who again is setting the narrative?

Ok, Christians do not force beliefs onto anyone.  That is clear.  So maybe we don’t set the narrative per se.  We share the Gospel and God transforms hearts and minds.  We are to be a light to the world around us.  So, let me ask this way, are Christians changing their belief in clear Biblical Truths to accommodate societies everchanging narrative?

In no way is this philosophical or complex.  God defines Truths and precepts that Christians are commanded to follow.  We do so willingly.  Are we circumventing these Truths?  Are we explaining them away?  Are we deeming them culturally irrelevant?  God sure didn’t tell us to do that.

Did God tell the Apostle Paul that I meant this letter to be for this Church only for this time?  Nope, He sure didn’t.  In fact, the Holy Spirit guided Paul to say in 1 Corinthians, “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in ALL the Churches of the saints.”  (I did the ALL in caps…you get the point.)

The Bible was written at a time when many where uneducated.  Is God’s Word not for all?  Of course, and it is not meant to be confusing…and it is certainly not contradictory in any way shape or form.

Yes, parts are confusing and hard to understand.  But the Truths that many debate are very clear.  As we mature in faith, God opens our hearts and minds to more and more.  God wants us to be saved and wants us to understand His Word.  A Word that does not change whenever we deem it necessary.

In fact, Jesus tells us, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away.”  God’s Word remains constant and is a steady foundation for faith.  “Constant” is key.  Does not change with the times and culture no matter how much we think society has “advanced.”  Has it?  Have we moved above God’s clear Word?  May it never be so.

Jesus flipped tables in the temple when the worship of God had been profaned.  Are we profaning our worship of God by worshiping the culture over the Truth of God’s Word?

Two genders…male and female.  Need God’s Word say more?

Bible says little on race.  It NEVER refers to race by skin color.  Race by skin color is solely a modern and unbiblical method to classify human beings.  Why do we do it?  We are one in Christ Jesus.  “For you are all one in Christ Jesus.”  (Galatians 3:28)

Christian nationalism.  Now there is a hot topic.  But who is determining that narrative?

In Genesis 17, God told Abraham, “For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.”

Jesus in Matthew 28 tells His Apostles, “Go and make disciples of all nations.”

If Christians are doing as they are commanded by God, to go and share the Gospel to any and all, does not Christian nationalism inevitably result?  Is Christian nationalism not the very blessing that God intended?  When we share the Gospel, do we only do so within borders?  One by one Christians turn to God, leading nations to adhere to Biblical Truths, which inevitably will tear down all dividing walls…including societal and political borders.

Do some Christians instead allow society and culture to divide and tear fellow brothers and sisters apart through debates over Biblical Truths that have been turned into changing cultural narratives and societal word vomit?

Let us all pray that instead of debating Truths transformed by the culture, we believe and live the Truths God has given us through His blessed, Holy Word that transform lives for eternal Salvation.

I would love to speak with anyone seeking a relationship with Jesus.
